The purpose of the Broadview Missionary Baptist Church Child Protection Program is to provide a safe and secure environment for the spiritual growth and maturity of children; to minimize the risk of exposing the Broadview Missionary Baptist Church, its employees and volunteers to unfounded accusations or allegations of abuse.
This program is strictly enforced by the Church.
Any intentional, reckless, or negligent act or failure to act that results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse, molestation, or exploitation of a child or that presents an imminent risk of serious physical or emotional harm to a child.
Natural person 18 years of age or older.
Natural person under 18 years of age, unless legally emancipated by reason of marriage or entry into a branch of the United States armed services.
An adult member of the Church in good standing, appointed by the Church Board to implement and supervise all components of the Program.
A natural person who meets the qualifications and fulfills the duties set forth in Article 1 of the Church Constitution and By-Laws.
A natural person, at least 11 years of age, who participates in ministry and related activities involving children.
Note: Persons 11 to 17 years of age are permitted to serve in the Church nursery only as trainees under the supervision of adult volunteers.
- Natural persons 11 years of age and older.
- Members of Broadview Missionary Baptist Church in good standing for a minimum of 6 consecutive months.
The four-part screening process includes:
Complete the application form.
Applicant personally interviews with two members of the Child Protection Program.
- Criminal Background Check
Background check conducted through the national database.
- Reference Check
Personal references provided by the applicant.
The Program coordinator shall prohibit any employee or volunteer from working with children if the coordinator determines that the employee or volunteer...
- has any prior history of abuse
- may pose a threat to children
- lacks the personality, experience or temperament to work with children (based either on the employee's or volunteer's application/interview responses or information obtained during the reference checks).
